Income Tax Day: A Step-by-step Manual for Utilizing the AIS App for Taxpayers Before Submitting their ITRs

In March of this year, the Income Tax Department launched a mobile application named “AIS for Taxpayers” to give taxpayers quick access to their information. As the July 31 deadline for reporting income taxes for the fiscal year 2022 23 assessment year 2023 24 draws near, many salary people look for a simple solution to file their ITR without any fuss to give taxpayers simple access to the information provided in the annual information statement (AIS)/Taxpayer Information Summary (TIS), the Income Tax Department launched a mobile app called “AIS for Taxpayers” in March of this year.

Why Use an AIS App?

The app aims to give users a thorough overview of their AIS/TIS information. It does this by displaying data gathered from various sources about the taxpayer, including TDS / TCS, dividends, interest, share transactions, tax payments, income tax refunds, and other information (GST data, foreign remittance, etc.).

However, the software does not provide editing of the AIS data or filing of income tax returns (ITR).

The AIS for Taxpayers’ App: How Can I Use it?

Step 1. To sign up for the app, enter your Permanent Account Number (PAN), and then confirm your registration by using the One Time Password (OTP) given to your registered email address and mobile number.

Step 2. After being verified, create a 4-digit PIN that will be used as the mobile app’s access code.

Get the AIS app for free with the help of the Google Play Store and the App Store. Thanks to this helpful app, taxpayers may easily track information about taxes. It is also a practical approach to obtain the data in PDF format and offer input via the AIS app.

Conclusion:

Taxpayers can benefit significantly from the AIS app. It offers a unified view of your income tax-related data and may be used to file your ITR. Please utilize the AIS app if you haven’t already. It is more convenient and simple to file your ITR as a result.
